Reflect
May is a super charged month energetically and astrologically; with Mercury and many other planets in Retrograde, it is the perfect time to slow down, ground ourselves and self reflect. Gratitude is a way to ground our being in the present moment. Make a point this month to reflect on where you are now, how far you've come and your current self worth. When reflecting on the past, try not to dwell on any regret, mistakes or missed opportunities; simply feel love and gratitude for where these missteps brought you. Chances are you wouldn't be where you are, who you are or what you are without the "blessings" of the past.
Thank yourself for doing the best you could with what you knew then, knowing you are stronger and more resilient because you experienced life on full throttle. By changing your outlook on the past to gratitude, you neutralize feelings of regret, fear, pain and sadness with love. This love raises your awareness and vibration (or energy), so that you begin to attract experiences that support your highest self.
When we hold onto fear-based emotions from the past, we keep attracting people and situations that match this frequency of fear. Like energy attracts like energy (aka the Law of Attraction). And oftentimes, our soul is not ready to learn a lesson the first time around, so we will encounter another opportunity similar to a past experience in order to heal our hearts and learn a lesson once and for all.
Start by focusing your energy on loving yourself for the person you are today. Celebrate your accomplishments and how far you have come in life. Celebrate the you now, not 10-less-pounds from now, not after that promotion, and not after snagging that perfect partner. You are enough right now. Relish in progress, not perfection. Believe in your self worth, and the Universe will repay this self love in unanticipated ways.
The beauty of gratitude is we will attract more of what we are grateful for. By embodying this feeling of love, we cultivate joy for the many blessings of today. This will undoubtedly affect our tomorrow, so choose love. Choose gratitude.
Re-Evaluate
Once you have filled your heart with gratitude and grounded yourself in the present moment, it is time to slow down and re-evaluate.
- How do you perceive your life, yourself and your relationships?
- What beliefs are no longer serving your highest self?
- What steps can you take toward self-care so you may value yourself at a higher level?
- What emotions are you harboring in your body and preventing from feeling (and thus releasing)?
- How can you let more love and passion into your life by taking small steps in the directions of your dreams?
Choose to negate and neutralize any fear-based beliefs that are holding you back with thoughts of love. Fill your heart with self love and feel your worth. You are a here for a purpose; your value is needed, and you matter. From this place of self worth, bask in the simplicity of love through gratitude for the wondrous existence you occupy on this planet.
With a newfound perspective of love and gratitude, you'll find joy in the simple pleasures of life. Aim to take in each moment presented to you as the Divine gift and blessing it truly is.
Set Intentions
With the May 6 New Moon around the corner, take your new intentions of self-love, self-worth and self-care and send them out into the universe. Do this via your thoughts or, better yet, give them life and form in your journal. This is a lovely way to reflect on just how far your intentions take you toward living a life rooted in love, adventure and spirited joy. When the inevitable distractions and daily stresses creep in, continue to ground yourself in gratitude. Repeat to yourself that right now, all is well. I am love. And I am enough.
