The book, Healing Your Thoughts book sat in my Amazon wishlist for months until I gave myself permission to buy it for myself. Funny that the book is all about Healing fear-based thoughts—the ones that block our desires (the ones we pray about) from reaching us. I wanted this book but I let my thinking get in the way of having it, that is until now.
I have been healing my dear scarcity-based mentality around money after a long and difficult period when I didn’t have enough to make ends meet. I have had bouts of scarcity throughout my life and I’ve have periods when I had more than enough to make ends meet. I’m learning what the middle place looks like these days where I have just enough. Maybe not enough to do all the things I’d like to do, but the times in the past when I had more than enough and credit cards with big maximums I spent like a mad person at times. Going from having the freedom to do everything I wanted and having everything I wanted (without any awareness as to the consequence) to not having enough for my basic needs has been a challenging hurdle to overcome in my life.
I left the comforts of a 9-5 to have the luxury of flexibility for time with family and the ability to figure out my next career move. But I did it all without a plan; God has taught me that patience, prayer, prudence and foresight when making a change is imperative.
Start Where You Struggle
Maybe you struggle in the area of harmful beliefs when it comes to finances or your self-image or identity. For me, I’ve been on a journey since to heal my beliefs around money. I overhauled every negative belief around money over the course of one year. Those thoughts still come up from time to time, but my path is proof that even the worst pattern of negative thoughts can be healed.
My beliefs were molded around my family’s dynamic around money along with my traumatic periods of scraping by financially; I rebooted my belief system so that it stemmed from spiritual truth.
The truth as I know it is to be is: we are naturally abundant beings. We have everything we need within us to attract abundance (and I’m not just talking about abundance in terms of money); God created us as abundant beings made from pure love God is Love). We are magnets for all good things including money, love, opportunities and anything else we desire. We draw these things to us via the law of attraction; as soon as we form negative beliefs around that which we desire, we repel the good that otherwise comes to us freely.
We can pray all we want, but as long as we hold fear around the things we pray about, our thoughts will form barriers between us and that which we desire.
We can have the man of our dreams walk through the door and look for an opportunity to date us, but if we’ve built a wall of negative thinking that makes us believe we don’t deserve such a wonderful person in our lives, we will miss the opportunity that is standing right in front of us.
The same goes for money. When we pray for an influx of financial abundance, God will have already answered our prayer before we ever utter a word. God is the divine mind that governs the universe and has access to every thought you think. He already has a solution to fulfill your very need. More often than not that mess requires action in order to be met; opportunities usually longer in the wings waiting for us to take action. If we have a fear that prevents us from following through on the action god requires for us to take to claim our abundance, we will be blocked from receding it.
This is when we get mixed up with negative thinking around god; we doubt that are prayed have been answered so god must not be real or if he’s real he must not love us. But this is The furthest thing from the truth.
God answers prayers but he cannot change our thoughts around that which we are praying for. We have to be the ones to fix our thinking and ultimately clear the path for it to come to us.
Think of all the food that you desire flowing right to you. Now imagine the negative thoughts you hold as a thick ironclad gate around you. Nothing will better through those gates so long as the negative thought keeps the gate up.
It’s up to us to open the gate by believing that what we have prayed for is already jere or that we are worthy of the goodness that god has sent us (or enter any other doubt filled thought you may have).
Our thoughts can be instant repellers or super attractors; ultimately that is is to us.
We have to want what we’ve prayed for badly enough to be willing to do the inner work to mend our false beliefs. Otherwise well always be within reach of our desires without ever claiming them.
God desires for us to wash away the false thinking and cleanse our minds of all negativity. This practical approach to reclaiming our birthright is abundance is mentioned in the Bible. God knew our minds would be clouded with false beliefs so he made sure a reputable source of truth could be found in his word.
How god answers prayers: yes, no or wait
Once we pray, we have to be both open to multiple outcomes and patient as we wait. Many times we will miss the answer to our prayer because we weren’t open minded enough to see it or we couldn’t wait long enough to receive it.
When god answers our prayers with a no, it is only so he can present us with something better suited to our individual circumstances and life purpose.
The times I’ve had people removed from my life or jobs taken away, I wanted to be angry and throw a childlike tantrum. But faith has taught me that god has to remove things from our lives with a “no” to make room for what we desire but wouldn’t allow ourselves to take the path to having it.
This is why it’s so important to let go of attachment to how things work out.

False truth I learned about money (look at that document I have)
Debunking the truth
Money flows to me with ease
All I need and require is on its way to me
Thank you for escorting away anything that is not meant for me
Thank you for removing those will I’ll intentions from my life
Thank you for revealing peoples true intentions
Once we’ve prayed it is important to thank God in advance for answering our prayer. When we focus on gratitude as we wait, it keeps us open receptors to our good and the solutions awaiting us. It is easy for doubt and worry to creep in while we await our answers and solutions; this can easily delay the answer to our prayers. Steeping our thoughts in gratitude ensures our desires flow to us with ease. Gratitude also reinforces our belief in the benevolence and power of god which boosts our faith as we wait.
Dear God, Thank you for fulfilling every need and desire according to your willl.
When we add “according to your will” we activate God’s highest will (which is our highest will) in accordance with our desires. Oftentimes what we desire is less than what god would choose for us; our false beliefs around worthiness can keep us from settling when god would have he utmost best for his beloved child.
